fully-cooked … fully-encouraged

do you see the side flares? fully-cooked.

Do you see the side flares?   My umbilicus never pops out.

For me …… side-flares = fully-cooked!

(I could have photo-shopped this pic,  but  stretch marks are a “badge of blessing”  – I love them.)

I requested prayer today via email and a blog post.   Thank you soooooo much for praying and encouraging me!

I am fully-encouraged, and humored!     I had to share…

First, I must start with the home-front announcement yesterday morning:

Hunter awoke early to announce to the family,  “Mom, today is June 1st!  You said Eden was going to come in the month of May! It’s June!”  He proclaimed with great disbelief and disappointment.

(If I wasn’t aware that I was still pregnant, and that the month of  May had come and gone without a birth, I had this sweetheart and many other calls & emails to remind me!) ”

“Typical girl!!  PRAYING!!”

I will definitely pray with you, believing that God absolutely has all the details worked out for the very best time for Eden to be born. I will be praying for you that you will know His perfect peace.”

“Haven’t heard, did you have that baby yet?”

I am in agreement with all of your prayers, and they are NOT silly. God is GOOD.”

Alls I can say is “A girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do!” and prep her family to wait for her looks like it is top on her list of priorities and Lord knows it won’t be the last time you’re all waiting on her! : )”

“I can tell you the the cohosh tastes terrible – it helped to drink it with hot, flavorful tea….  Also, you can probably only buy the tincture at Lori’s.  Evening Primrose Oil helps to ripen the cervix.  My midwife recommended very high doses and my last baby nearly slid out!”

“” I have a “recipe” that has successfully induced my labor for the last 2 pregnancies.  It is not all fun and games, but it sure beats pitocin (in my opinion).  Here is the “recipe”: This is the recipe for better or worse….. (and I always start in evening and relax with hubby and a movie)  (I also like to do everything possible to ensure all the positives together will make baby come) – one or two tablespoons of castor oil (I get it down with M&M’s) (This will give you violent diarrhea just be warned- but if it works it means you won’t be pooping while pushing)  (also this can be repeated after 6 hours) …. 40 drops of blue cohosh every four hours ( I was told to put it in warm water but I liked it better straight and it got it down quicker) …..nipple stimulation ……. sperm to soften the cervix …. take lots of fluid …. So that is it!!!”

the chiropractor told me to drink “1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar”…

“My only advice is to stay away from castor oil…a little enema can be helpful..also take long walks and try to have your husband make lovey=dovey with you even if you can’t manage the whole package at this awkward time…    ahh..those were the days…my first two were 10 days overdue and I was due to go in for a stress test with # 2 the morning I went into labor with him..  I think the lovey/dovey helped on that one.
And prayer, of course!  The LORD knows the desires of our hearts.  He delights to give it to us.  But it’s not about twisting his almighty arm, it’s about trust.”

“…extended periods in front of the computer might induce labor as well!”

“While I was praying for you this weekend, He reminded me of a Scripture in the Psalms/ Job that talks about His VOICE making the deer give birth. It made me think, wow, if he cares for the animals, of course how much more does he care for us humans, and when we give birth to our young? And I thought it was interesting that His voice gave the timing for the deer to give birth. I believe His voice is waiting for the perfect time to release your body into natural labor to bring forth Eden .”

“The good news is your body IS working!!!!  You are doing it gradually already!   Your contractions ARE working.  You are wrong when you say they “aren’t working well.”  You are dilated 4.5, the baby is great, she is moving, your placenta is fine right now.  That is all working.  If that doesn’t count as working well, what does???!!!???  We have this crazy notion of how labor and delivery is “supposed” to go.  What is wrong with how God made your body to do it this time?  It is gradual, slow, you are halfway dilated!!!  You have had the “gradual labor so I can go with the flow” start to this whole thing.  That is what you are praying for and you are getting it.  You have done half of it so far.  Be still and let God work!!!  Know that He is God. “

“I know you can be very assertive when you have to, and I say
1. it’s your baby, and your due date
2. you’re not even 40 weeks yet
3. baby looks great!
4. why not wait?
Tell your Dr. that you are waiting until it happens.”

“Am I calculating wrong, or are you OVER due?”

“The God who created the intricacies of a butterflies wings is ABSOLUTELY into the “details” and is just looking to show himself strong on your behalf. ”

“I know this may sound silly, but can I just say that I am so PROUD of you?!?  You are in such good spirits, thinking so positively, and really leaning on friends, family, and an amazing God who hears your prayers.”
“Hope you are feeling well…looks like June 4th was the more accurate due date:)…we’ll see:)”
“I keep thinking about the little moment we had in the foyer at church just about 3 weeks ago when you said you were “ready” :)   My dearest, I think it’s a “girl” thing!!!!!   oh, honey, my heart goes out to you.  These girls of ours are practicing for their “fashionably late” appearances, right?   “In His time, In His time, He makes all things beautiful, In His time”….”
“I’m sure you are busy with the new infant and all…. but …. “
“I have exhausted myself praying for your womb, your cervix, your sweet baby girl, and most of all God’s perfect timing.”
I am so blessed.  Many more “praying for you” words as well.

For now, I am sticking to my Au-naturale plan.

No lovey-dovey.  No “recipes”.  No castor oil.  No stimulations.

Goodnight sweet friends,
and I am praying for each of you too… be encouraged!
Darci

*phew*
glad I don’t see any comments of mine in there… ;)

I can tell you what I was *thinking* on Sunday when I saw you… “Oh, I hope she can do it naturally; it would be so awesome. She’d feel so happy.”

And you popped up in my crazy, unorganized prayers. You know, the ones you spit out while you are cooking, or bathing a kids. “Oh Jesus, please help Darci to have a good delivery. Please let it be natural, if that is okay.”
